Ballroom.
Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, and Quickstep
All these well-known dances need no explanation in terms of their style and general
appearance. The variation in tempo and in the amount of physical effort involved
in each dance provides a wide range of movement, ranging from the slow elegance
of the waltz to the speed and energy of the quickstep.
Latin American.
Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, and Jive
Again offering a wide variety of tempo and movement, ranging from the elegant and
romantic rumba, to the fun and excitement of the cha-cha and samba which are usually
performed to the exciting and ‘foot-tapping’ Latin American rhythms. The jive is
one of the standard Latin American dances and provides the ultimate dancing enjoyment
using the variety of moves and disciplines which pupils will learn as part of their
course.
Course Structure
Dancz provides ballroom and Latin American 6-week dancing courses
for beginners, improvers, intermediate and advanced levels of dancer. Advance booking
and payment is required.
The 6-week course gives dancers the opportunity to progress
over the course of the term.
The beginners course focuses on the basic step patterns
of four ballroom and four Latin American dances. Over a 12-week period (two 6-week
courses) danczers will learn the fundamentals of dancing to enable them to successfully
progress onto the next level.
The improvers, intermediate and advanced courses only
concentrate on one ballroom and one Latin American dance for the term.
